We’ve been quietly working on something new.

If you’re familiar with Keeps, you know our headboards have traditionally lived in two forms: wall-mounted for a clean, architectural look, or freestanding for renters and flexible spaces. Each solved a problem, but neither fully captured what we were aiming for.

This is the next step.

A solid wood headboard that attaches directly to the bed frame itself. Just a simple, integrated design that feels like it was always meant to be there.

A More Seamless Approach

The new design uses two solid oak supports that bolt directly into our strap and bolted bed frames. Once in place, the headboard attaches cleanly to the structure, creating a unified, grounded presence.

Like everything we make, this headboard is crafted from solid oak with our signature organic finish. The supports are made from the same material, designed to match the tone and grain of your bed frame and headboard.

The entire system is designed to assemble and disassemble just as easily as you expect from your Keeps bed frame. So whether you’re rearranging a room or moving to a new space, this headboard comes with you.

Questions Answered

Which bed frame designs does this headboard attach?

All new Keeps Strap and Bolted joinery bed frames in Full, Queen, and King are compatible with this new design. Most beds purchased in 2025 should be compatible with this new design, inquire for confirmation.

What color finish are the headboard attachments?

The solid oak supports are sourced from the same FSC-certified wood and finished using the same VOC-free organic stains.

How does the headboard assembly work?

The solid oak supports are bolted to the bed frame rail with four hand bolts. The headboard then rests on the supports.

Do I need any tools to assemble the headboard attachment?

The attached headboard does not require any tools. The bolts are screwed hand-tight.

Do I have to choose between the attached or stand-alone headboard?

During this early test period, we will send the headboard with the stand-alone hardware and the solid oak supports. In the future only the selected system will be sent.
