Back from New York: Reflections on Our First NY Design Festival
We're back from New York, and still processing what an incredible week it was.
For Keeps, exhibiting at Afternoon Light during NY Design Week was an opportunity to share our furniture with a broader design community and connect with the people who make thoughtful homes possible: designers, architects, creatives, editors, and furniture lovers.
What we found was a warm welcome.
The quality of work throughout the fair was exceptional. It was a privilege to exhibit alongside respected design brands such as USM and Carl Hansen & Søn, companies whose furniture has shaped homes and workplaces for generations. To have Keeps included in that conversation felt both humbling and affirming.
One of the highlights of the weekend was giving away nearly 1,000 Emergency Birthday Candles from our Off-Cuts collection.
Originally created from surplus material generated during bed production, these small objects became an unexpected ambassador for Keeps. Watching visitors smile, laugh, and show the contents of the object with friends reminded us that great design doesn't always need to be serious. Sometimes it simply creates a moment of delight.
Perhaps most meaningful was meeting so many Keeps owners who stopped by the booth.
Many traveled across New York City to see the debut of the Architect Bed in person, share stories about their Keeps furniture, and celebrate this milestone with us. As a young furniture company, these conversations mean everything. Your enthusiasm, feedback, and support have helped shape Keeps into what it is today.
The Design Fair also reinforced something we've believed from the beginning: people are searching for furniture that lasts.
Not just physically, but emotionally. Furniture that adapts to changing homes, evolving styles, and the everyday moments that make life meaningful. That commitment remains at the center of everything we build.
We're returning home energized, grateful, and full of ideas for what's next.
Thank you to everyone who visited, supported, shared a kind word, or took home an Emergency Birthday Candle. We're excited for the year ahead and can't wait to share what we're building next.
